CASE STUDY: Market Analysis and Entry Strategy
in Spain for a Voice and IP Telecommunications Operator 
UK-based
Internet telecommunications company engaged Corporate Solutions SA to research
and study the potential market in Spain, expanded thanks to the liberalisation
of the telecommunications sector in 1999, following the pattern of other European
countries. We analysed pricing strategies, competitor products and strategies,
options for adapting and possible investment in infrastructure. In a second stage,
it reviewed potential strategic partners for entry and penetration of the Spanish
market, both technical and financial. The potential
market was defined, segmented and quantified, including the definition of the
marketing materials for the Spanish market. First contacts were established with
potential partners and technical service support staff. The company is now actively
pursuing establishing a significant market share among the new telecom operators
in Spain. It is now pursuing entry into other western and central European countries,
following the same market entry model as the one developed for Spain. |
